Mudi

COUNTRY: Hungary
WEIGHT: 18-29 pounds

COAT: Short on head and fronts of legs, 2 inches on rest of body, coarse and bristly, with a tendency to curl.
COLOR: Black, white, pied

A truly rare breed, the Mudi has total accumulative registrations numbering only in the 300s. Despite the Mudi's small stature, he shows abundant courage in his duties as an all-around farm dog.

The Mudi works the cattle, exterminates rodents—and hunts boar on his day off. The tail is usually docked. Almost all Mudis are in Hungary, although an occasional specimen is seen at European dog shows.
